REFLECTIONS

750cm x 140cm
Aluminium, Glass

The sculpture is a floating landscape with a roadmap over the topography of the road.

The pyramid shapes above the blue horizontal line represent 12 hills and valleys that stretch over 7 meters.

This commissioned artwork intends to give a different perspective on the school theme (“learning journey”) to the students. The theme originates form the Bible story about the men from Emmaus walking the 7 miles from Jerusalem.

It is about walking lifes path with twists, turns, ups and downs. A road that is winding but gets you to your destination.

The top and bottom half of the diamond shapes are separated by a blue glass line representing ground level, watershed and a long deep reflection below each hill. The small footprint of the sculpture intends to show treading lightly on earth and give a floating appearance.
